Knock Knock - Leeds College of Art End of Year Show 2014
Art student connects with global communities to produce work, including ‘We are one’ which counts to a trillion.
Leeds College of Art is hosting an inspiring collection of final year student work at this year’s end of year show entitled Knock Knock.
The free exhibition features a broad range of exciting work from all final year students, giving you the opportunity to view the latest talent from Textiles, Design, Fashion, Communication, Advertising, Art, Interiors, Photography, Furniture and Graphic Design.
You will find extraordinary work from BA (Hons) Fine Art Jack Fisher, who has engaged with how new technologies and online platforms push the boundaries of fine art, inviting people from all over the world to collaborate on a song or on a video that counts to a trillion.
With projects named ‘Pointless’ and ‘We are one’ which are featured at the exhibition as well as online, Jack challenges the conventions of production by outsourcing many artworks through online communities, inviting people to respond to an initial idea, to which they create a new piece. An example of this can be found in his piece Pointless, where responses have been received from people throughout the world such as from Portland Oregon, USA and from outside the Taj Mahal, India.
Also featured in the exhibition is work from BA (Hons) Printed Textile and Surface Pattern Design students Jessica Thompson and Charlotte Curtis, who have both recently won placements at Zoffany Design Studio, one of the world’s leading names in luxury fabric and wallpaper design. Jessica and Charlotte will also be exhibiting work at New Designers an exhibition in London for emerging talent.
The exhibitions are free and open to the public between Saturday 14th to Thursday 19th June at both Leeds College of Art sites, Blenheim Walk and Vernon Street.
For further information about the exhibition please visit the Leeds College of Art website.
Many of the students featuring in Knock Knock exhibition will be exhibiting at annual graduate art shows Free Range, New Designers and D&AD.
