Seven years of success for Birmingham Uni "Best Student Bar"

Joe’s Bar at the University of Birmingham has scooped the coveted award for ‘Best Student Bar’ for the seventh year running

The University of Birmingham Guild of Students’ Joe’s Bar has scooped the coveted award for ‘Best Student Bar’ for the seventh year running at the region’s Best Bar None Awards held at the ICC, Birmingham earlier this month.

Fending off competition from other popular student venues from across the city, Joe’s was awarded for its exceptional work in promoting safe alcohol retailing and student safety.

Best Bar None is a national accreditation scheme recognised by the Home Office. The scheme awards venues that operate responsibly by demonstrating a commitment to reducing alcohol related crime and that take pride in their surroundings for the benefit of Birmingham residents and visitors alike.

Frankie Greenwell, Vice President (Welfare) at the University of Birmingham Guild of Students comments: “We’re immensely proud to have been successfully named ‘Best Student Bar’ seven years in a row. Our bar staff, students who work part-time while they study, are extremely dedicated to Joe’s and this award is a testament to their commitment.”
