Lloyds Banking Group (National)

General Management - Consumer Finance

This is all about developing customer focused leaders with commercial and entrepreneurial skills within a growing area of Lloyds Banking Group.

Consumer Finance is made up of three different businesses: Asset Finance, Cards and European Online Deposits. Consumer Finance brings together a host of specialist knowledge and expertise, designed to deliver the best products and services for our customers.

Under the leadership of Antonio Lorenzo, Group Director, Consumer Finance and Group Corporate Development, who is also the Group sponsor for Emerging Talent, the Consumer Finance division consists of Asset Finance, Consumer Credit Cards, Commercial Card and Acquiring Solutions and our European Online Deposits businesses and is a key area for growth for Lloyds Banking Group.

Asset Finance has a five-year growth plan to invest in better customer propositions, simpler technology and more innovative ways of doing business. Asset Finance is aiming to become the best motor finance and motor services provider in the UK. The business is made up of two key brands: Lex Autolease is the market leader for fleet management and fleet funding, helping to keep many well-known UK businesses on the road; Black Horse helps over 200,000 customers a year finance new and used cars, caravans, motorhomes and motorbikes.

Consumer Credit Cards are the second largest card issuer in the UK, with a current portfolio of over eight million customers across three key banking brands. They help to meet the needs of customers for both payments and flexible, short- term borrowings.

Commercial Card and Acquiring Solutions deliver solutions to clients both inside and outside of Lloyds Banking Group, helping to structure customers' programmes to make the best use of their card facilities and working capital.

European Onshore Banking aim to establish ourselves as an online bank and reliable partner for customers through our German and Dutch retail banking businesses. Our strategy is based on simple and transparent products that have attractive conditions and provide long-term value for customers. We benefit hugely from having a market-leading online platform and low-cost operating model.

This is all about developing customer focused leaders with commercial and entrepreneurial skills within a growing area of Lloyds Banking Group. The aim is for you to become a future leader within Consumer Finance. So over the course of your three eight-month placements, you will be expected not only to build up specialist knowledge and expertise but also progress significantly as a business manager and as a leader. You could potentially be working in any of our three business areas. There will also be the opportunity to work within areas which provide critical strategic and operational support to our customer and client facing teams. In all your placements, you will be given significant responsibility and will be expected to make a real contribution to our success.

We have a team of senior leaders in Consumer Finance who will be supporting all graduates on this programme. You will also get constant feedback, including frequent one-to-one sessions with your line manager, and will have lots of opportunities to network with your peers. You will have access to a wide range of training and development throughout the programme. As you begin your final placement, we will support you in pursuing a relevant professional qualification.

This placement involves working in our client or customer teams in either Cards or Asset Finance. Customers are at the heart of everything we do, and this is an excellent opportunity to gain real insight into what makes our customers tick. You can also expect to greatly enhance your commercial understanding.

The aim of this placement is for you to experience first-hand what it means to provide support to the customer-facing business. This could mean taking on a role within change management, for example, or in our Risk and Operations team. The experience will give you a much better strategic understanding of how Consumer Finance operates.

There are two possibilities here. You could either be leading a team in an operational role, or leading the delivery of a project requiring the management of a group of internal and external stakeholders.

We see you as a future leader of Consumer Finance, as someone who can shape the direction of our business, and create new levels of value and growth. So show us that you are committed to putting our customers at the heart of everything you do, and that you understand the commercial markets in which we operate.
