Aviva Chartered Accountancy scheme
Aviva Graduate recruitment
Accountants at Aviva don't just look after the books and oversee finance. Here, they add value right across the business, supporting different departments to achieve their goals, influencing key decisions, shaping policy and improving the way we work. In other words, our Chartered Accountants are the highly visible figures who drive our business.
What you'll do. Over three years, you'll complete placements in three separate Finance teams, with the unique opportunity to cover both General Insurance in Norwich and Life Insurance in York. Your placements will show you a mix of front- and back-office operations, from Investment, Reinsurance and Financial Accounting to Group Reporting, Financial Control, Commercial Finance and Taxation. Your particular mix will reflect your developmental requirements and give you the breadth of experience to lay the foundations for your career.
Alongside these Placements you will study to become a Chartered Accountant. Modules cover everything from Financial Reporting to Audit, Law to Taxation.
By the time you're finished, you'll have a broad and detailed grounding in the wide world of accounting, alongside practical experience that will stand you in good stead throughout your career.
What you'll need. At least an impressive 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and 300 UCAS points or higher from three A Levels or equivalent qualifications (excluding General Studies). Your degree doesn't have to be in a Mathematical discipline– graduates from different academic backgrounds are often able to bring fresh ideas and alternative viewpoints to the table. Mental dexterity is the crucial element, allied to a passion for business, plenty of initiative, great communication skills and clear leadership potential.
