WHAT TO EXPECT
Opportunity to join the engineering team within Design Model Operations as a lead/specialist within the cad modelling team. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in in the design and engineering of physical model properties, A leader who can inspire and provide guidance to others within the team and lead complex model types through the department. You shall Primarily work within Prototype build for selected JLR Vehiclles.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
In the role of a Computer Aided Design Modelling Lead, you will be the driving force behind turning imaginative concepts into tangible designs. Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers, you’ll employ your expertise of CAD software to accurately craft intricate 3D models and detailed technical drawings that define the next generation of automotive innovation. You shall be entrusted with a crucial role in steering our design vison, leading an expanding team, mentoring skilled CAD engineers, orchestrating the creation of intricate 3D models and precise technical drawings that define the essence of our vehicles.
You shall be responsible for ensuring all modelling by the data modelling team meets the CAD modelling standards set by the department, providing CAD modelled solutions for complex engineering parts.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Responsible for sign offs with all relevant parties on all assets
Give design direction to the data modelling team in terms of build methodology and process
Liaise with facility/department leads to get buy into design methodology and agree ROM
Essential:
Previous experience with Catia V5 or similar software platform.
Previous experience within Prototype / model build
Previous CNC programming and machine operation experience
CDRM, ACM, C&M, speedfoam design experience
Previous experience of leading design teams
