THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The Development Team within the DAG is a centralised technical support team to all departmental and functional teams, responsible for research, development, and deployment of productionised working methods/processes, programmed tools/applications/scripts and technical systems to support its varying customer requirements and business transformation. Utilising software API integrations and a variety of programming languages, to enable automation, validation, and optimisation for maximised business efficiency and quality.

 

As a Senior Technical Developer, you will be responsible for the delivery of assigned activities and tasks as assigned and undertaken by the team, working in close alignment with the internal customer teams, under direction from senior team members and local management. Maintaining and nurturing all key stakeholder and customer relationships and contributing to the overall strategic development and delivery of the department.

 

The Senior Technical Developer will also be required to drive the development of our current and future capabilities and toolsets, aligned to departmental functional and wider business transformation, and strategic imperatives. Driving positive change across our activities, ensuring maximised operational effectiveness and efficiency, and a first-class service and experience for our customers and stakeholders.

 

Additionally, the role will provide support to the growth and development of surrounding technical developers to increase the team capacity and capability.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Digital Futuring and Development optimisation - Support the development of tools/applications/scripts and technical systems to service new and existing methods and processes, in a centralised way to all functional departments.

Research and Strategy - Research of new working methods/processes, programmed tools/scripts/applications, general digital tools across any department within local function, and technical systems to support its varying customer requirements and business transformation.

Planning - Determining tasks required to accomplish goals, as well as estimating overall timings to ensure delivery of projects in line with pre-determined deadlines.

Computer programming - Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications to enable automation, validation, and optimisation for maximised business efficiency and quality.

Testing and Deployment - Testing of tools/applications/scripts, and ensure the supported delivery of improved production processes to improve the department and business efficiency, as well as maintaining systems once they have been deployed into production.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

  • Substantial experience within a digital content delivery or Technical Development background.

  • Strong Python and C++ knowledge.

  • Blueprint coding for Unreal Engine experience, with interest in expanding current knowledge.

  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies.

  • Excellent problem solver with strong initiative skills.

  • Excellent communication abilities.

  • Strong knowledge in CGI content production processes and applications (eg. Maya / VRay / Photoshop / Nuke / UE4 or equivalents)

  • Strong knowledge of key content development and creation platforms to support cross-functional business use cases (VR/AR/MR - Realtime rendering – Application Authoring)
