WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Jaguar & Land Rover Design is a world class organization responsibility for the creation and delivery of all visible parts on the exterior, interior, and under-bonnet of all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. The Design team is multi-disciplined, with Designers within Interior, Exterior, Colour & Materials, Interface / Experience and SV, Studio Engineers, Programme Managers, Clay, Alias & ICEM Teams, Model Operations, Cubing and Visualisation.

 

Design is responsible for the creative processes at the earliest stage of a project, through to the co-ordination of feasible solutions, and release of all class ‘A’ surfaces for tooling. The successful applicant will report to the Design Programme Manager and will be expected to work with all disciplines within design to coordinate and deliver programmes on time and budget.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

As a Design Programme Lead, you will provide liaison between Design, PD, Marketing, and Launch teams for your Design programme. You shall be tasked with establishing whilst also maintaining the delivery of its specified framework, making sure all Jaguar Land Rover required Material Safety and Product Circularity Data processes are met. You will provide robust and timely gateway deliverables for your programmes, ensuring all tasks have been clearly communicated, understood, and the required forums are in place and correctly managed, escalating and resolving any potential issues. You will Communicate all programme assumptions within the approved cycle plan to ensure understanding of programme assumptions across the department, enabling along with the Design Programme Frameworks to meet clear resource and model build requirements.

 

You will lead the programme change management systems to ensure the Design teams understand any assumptions that change, working closely with the modelling teams to ensure efficient delivery of all design models as well as associated models against the Design Programme Framework. This includes management of content, timing, review cadence, as well as an understanding of associated costs. Working with Business Planners and Executive PA’s, you will ensure effective running of the design approval process, making sure appropriate material planning is prepared and in place to support effective reviews. For this position you will represent Design at key programme forums and ensure all your programmes key planning and status documents are created and maintained. As a Design Programme Lead, you will be tasked with identifying process improvement across the department as well as opportunities for cross-functional efficiencies to deliver all design programmes on time, on cost, and on quality.

 

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

 

 

Essential:

 

  • Automotive OEM experience, supporting programme aesthetic development

  • Degree level qualifications or equivalent experience in Engineering / Design / Creative discipline

  • Project Lead / Management experience, dealing with timing, cost and resource systems

  • Strong communications skills with people of all levels and expertise; notably Design, Marketing, Programme

  • The ability to drive the team to deliver a cost/time efficient solution to the Design aspiration

  • Flexibility - as programme workload changes the candidate would be expected to work at Gaydon or from Home

  • Microsoft Office applications experience; notably Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams

 

Desirable:

 

  • Jaguar Land Rover Product Circularity Data experience, Design Programme Planning knowledge

  • Programme Central, Agile Methodology and tools sets including Jira
