We're on the lookout for a dedicated and visionary Lead Engineer to drive the development of cutting-edge transmission components within our Electric Drive Unit Transmission Sub-system.
As the Lead Engineer for Transmission Components, your mission is to lead the design, development, testing, and launch of rotating components within our Electric Drive Unit Transmission Sub-system. This critical role ensures the technical excellence and integrity of these components across our in-house Electric Drive Unit Programmes.
You will collaborate closely with JLR’s suppliers, manufacturing plants, and cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of quality components on time and within budget.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for a group of components, including gears, shafts, and differentials. Your key responsibilities will include:
Ownership of core Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and related documents.
Development and management of engineering requirements, design rules, test cases, and procedures.
Collaborating with key suppliers to develop technology roadmaps and resolve issues.
Generating design concepts and component specifications.
Coordinating with CAD engineers for modelling and drawing creation.
Completing Design Review By Failure Mode (DRBFM).
Defining and supporting physical rig tests.
Leading supplier meetings.
Planning and executing design and release activities.
Conducting root cause analysis and issue resolution.
Managing issues within relevant systems.
