THE OPPORTUNITY
The Power Architecture team develops low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) power supply systems for all future Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. We have responsibility for LV and HV power supply systems on all JLR powertrain variants, from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) to mild-hybrid (MHEV), plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV). Power Architecture is a rapid growth area and is a key player in e-mobility.
- The Lead Project Engineer will work as part of a team developing JLR Power Architecture in collaboration with the Power Architecture team in the UK and Hungary and also the numerous system and component teams collating and integrating the design data in order to achieve an efficient and robust Power Architecture design.
- Responsible to Co-ordinate the Engineering activity for Power Architecture application projects.
THE ROLE
- Co- ordinate the Power Architecture team between platform and application programs working to fulfil design engineering tasks and deliverables.
- Co- ordinate the design of power architecture in line with JLR and standards
- Form effective working relationships with cross functional teams
- Work well with people from diverse backgrounds e.g suppliers, business partners, and offshore/onsite engineers
- Managing design changes within controlled process
- Supporting the development of the power supply system and database
- Supporting the development of design rules and processes
- Interfacing and collaborating across functions, countries and working with suppliers
- Lead power system validation and verification activities
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
- Self-starter able to sustain multitask workload. Combine Engineering with business skills
- Ability to work within a team or alone with exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail
- Must be computer literate, excel, word, PowerPoint and easily adapt to company specific systems
- Good presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels within the company
- Experience with power supply systems
- Experience with systems engineering
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work within timing constraints
- Resourceful, highly driven and self-motivated
Desirable:
- Previous work within a multidiscipline Engineering team. Experience of technical problem resolution. A knowledge of System validation processes
- Understanding development process of Vehicles
- Experience with the following tools: MSOSA, TRM, IBM Doors
