Delivering a premium product from your manufacturing facility, you will take extreme pride in being part of the maintenance operations team at Solihull, providing engineering maintenance support to maximise production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility.

 

The manufacturing asset footprint includes numerous modern technologies encompassing automated multi-axis robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling and fixturing and lifting equipment to name but a few.

 

You will contribute towards the long-term success of Jaguar Land Rover by leading your shift team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians in an uplifted body construction manufacturing facility with new manufacturing assets.

 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Own and lead 5S and workplace organisation activities, validating effectiveness to standards.
  • Lead team meetings, develop and own plans for the shift that align with expected results for your area of responsibility, whilst setting the direction for your team and supporting them as required.
  • Lead the execution of the plan during the shift including pit stops and loss elimination.
  • Be the lead point of contact on technical projects in your work area, interfacing with Manufacturing Engineering on success criteria and start-up.
  • Train/coach associates in your area of responsibility on operations and technical understanding of the manufacturing equipment
  • You will have a percentage of managing your team and being hands-on with projects in maintenance.
  • Holding your team accountable to high standards across our Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment framework

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Essential:

  • A recognised time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering maintenance discipline
  • A proven maintenance professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical understanding and competencies
  • Previous experience in leading/supervising a maintenance team in an operational manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to solve problems and naturally strive for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering safety metrics.
  • Willingness to undertake projects/continuous improvement works in-line with business requirement.

 

Desirable:

  • Lean manufacturing methodologies experience including TPM, 5S, Kaizen and PPS (Practical Problem Solving) techniques.
  • Previous experience in the use of a CMMS platform
  • Experience in the supervision of contractors and equipment OEM’s
  • Understanding of PUWER and its influence in the maintenance arena 
  • Experience of operating in a high volume, fast paced 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Previous automotive maintenance experience would be advantageous, though not essential.
  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures and deliverables
