The Board of Electors invite applications from exceptional individuals for the endowed Professorship of Education (1938), located in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. The appointment of this Professorship is available from the 1 January 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are seeking candidates who have an outstanding research record of international stature and who have significantly contributed to the advancement of knowledge in the field of educational equity, diversity, and inclusion in education. Candidates from varied disciplinary backgrounds, as well as those working with diverse methodological approaches are encouraged to apply for this post. The candidate should have an established track record of contributing to the promotion of diverse epistemologies and be familiar with current debates on social and cognitive justice in education.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrable track record of teaching and supervision in the areas identified above. They will possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and inclusive leadership skills. Candidates will be encouraged to show how they have promoted their field of knowledge both nationally and internationally, and how they have supported the development of early career researchers.
Standard professorial duties include leadership roles in the Faculty, research and scholarship, teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programmes, supervision at all levels of our programme, paper coordination, examinations, and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
