THE OPPORTUNITY
This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of customer attributes for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
You will provide engineering support to the off-road and all-road capability attribute team by assisting with physical and virtual testing using CAD, CAE and physical vehicles. As an attribute engineer you will lead the problem investigation and resolution of any issue found during programme delivery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Support delivery of all Attribute Requirement targets by Gateway
Support the Programme Attribute Team to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved.
Plan and support test and development activities as required or specified in the Design Verification Plan (DVP) on time and to budget.
Ensure DVP makes use of best practices and maximises use of cost-effective tools and techniques such as CAE.
Working with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets (RMDV, Doors as required)
Work with component engineers and suppliers as required to drive implementation and resolution of all engineering solutions.
Deliver technical recommendations and reports.
Support and maintain the Automated Issues Management System (AIMS)/Jira and track these to successful resolution.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Previous experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving,
Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in Manufacturing
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
CAD and CAE experience
Full driving licence
Desirable:
Knowledge of Agile process and Jira tools
Experience of Matlab, Simpack and CANalyser
Six Sigma training
Microsoft package elements Project, Power Point and Excel
Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering knowledge and cross functional experience
Knowledge of Quality Operating Standards in Manufacturing
