WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Join our team of next generation thinkers! As a Senior SW System Architect, you’ll be part of the On-Board Architecture Chapter. You’ll be responsible for the coordination of architecture, interfaces and requirements activities and support the team in case of critical technical delivery issues in your product group/domain.

 

Day to day, you will be supporting the development of the solution architecture within the Digital Product Platform of the vehicle, ranging from ADAS, to Infotainment or Chassis systems, resolving technical blockers and advising the right technical strategy. You will be working with the architects from the other squads to ensure interfaces are well defined and dependencies between the squads are clear and resolve architectural or development issues. You will be active in the management and mitigation of technical risks, ensuring that the requirements can be realistically delivered by the underlying technology components.

 

You will have the opportunity to be involved in defining the strategy driving the future of automotive and will be influential in the development of the Software platform and features across the range of JLR vehicles.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include the generation and curation of system and vehicle wide requirements, architecture design and generation with evidence of technical feasibility, and review and sign off of high- and low-level design.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential:

 

  • Knowledge across several programming languages, including C/C++

  • SW development and architecture in one of: embedded, automotive, aerospace, transportation SW

  • Extensive OS systems / SW platforms knowledge (at least one of Unix/QNX/Autosar/Android)

  • UML Design

  • A good communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience

 

Desirable:

 

  • Knowledge of networking systems and protocols

  • Ability to lead and organise a team of engineers
