WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start. 

 

The role will be based within Testing As A Service within the Engineering Delivery Platform (EDP) Tech Centre and dedicated to supporting design and development of automated test asset platforms. You’ll become part of the Digital Product Platform where you’ll have a key responsibility in enabling test capabilities for automated test frameworks and platforms within the test domains of  In-Vehicle Infotainment, Hardware in the Loop and Vehicle in the Loop. You will also be developing best in class process and methods to implement a DevOps approach to management of the test estate.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the design and integration of infotainment test automation capabilities as part of a team.
  • Work closely with Product Owner, Delivery Managers, Architects and BA’s to promote a comprehensive, approach to test estate management.
  • Work closely with Product Owner, scrum team and developers to ensure that designs are fully understood and support development through to delivery
  • Good awareness of industry best practice and solutions in validation automation.
  • Ensuring that any code is written following best practices, performant and scalable, in line with the Department’s standards
  • Ability to lead small agile teams in a timely manner with quality fit for use in an enterprise environment.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of Test Automation Architecture, including considerations for  Software Architecture and test framework architecture
  • A high level of IT literacy and desire to continue to learn new data tools and skills. 
  • A proven track record of translating business requirements and needs into prioritised Hardware/System/Network/Platform Requirements.
  • Ability to manage groups of affected stakeholders across the business, and help them to work collaboratively.
  • A mind for improvement of process and a drive to understand and overcome challenges.

 

Desirable

  • Electrical Architecture development skills and experience (creation of the design rules).
  • An ability to solve complex problems and communicate the solution to the wider business.
  • An excellent level of ability to structure, analyse/ interpret data
  • Understanding of National Instruments test platforms
  • An understanding of the Electrical Vehicle Architecture
