This weekend, the country’s best university tennis teams and players will descend on the National Tennis Centre (NTC), Roehampton, to compete in two BUCS National League fixtures.

The NTC will play host to the second and final BUCS Super Weekend in the 2017-18 BUCS season, where the 12 best teams in university tennis will each battle out two BUCS National League fixtures. The first Super Weekend at Loughborough, saw high standards of tennis, likely to be matched in the capital as the stakes rise at the climax of the 2017-18 season.

The home of British Tennis will see the final matches of the BUCS National League men’s division, where plenty still remains uncertain. The battle for top spot will head into the final weekend of fixtures, with the University of Stirling looking to apply the pressure on reigning champions, Durham University. The two powerhouses of university tennis face off in a huge six pointer on Friday, which could see Durham seal the title for the third year in a row. Both teams face tricky opponents in current third-placed University of Bath and fourth-placed Loughborough respectively in the teams’ final league matches.

Both Bath and Loughborough men’s teams are gunning for third-place finishes in the top tier of university tennis and will begin the weekend’s play against Leeds Beckett and Exeter on Friday. The two respective fifth and sixth placed teams face off on Saturday in what could prove to be a relegation clash.

In the women’s teams category, it appears Durham University are set to clinch the title; however they will have to be on top form this weekend as they look to maintain their unbeaten campaign as they face both an in form University of Bath and strong University of Stirling. The rush for second is intensifying, with 4 teams still in the mix, including Bath, Loughborough, Stirling and Exeter.
