Fast-growing engineering and technology company Delkia has officially launched its inaugural graduate scheme, offering a new route into some of the UK’s most critical sectors for aspiring engineers.
With a strong presence in Cumbria, Lancashire and a new production facility set to open in Merseyside this April, Delkia has built a reputation for delivering safety-related and mission-critical systems across the aerospace, clean energy, maritime, and defence sectors. The new scheme aims to recruit up to six talented graduates to join their expanding team this summer.
The Delkia Engineering Graduate Scheme is a structured two-year programme tailored for recent graduates in engineering and related fields, including aerospace, electrical, mechanical, systems and software engineering, as well as technical project management. It’s open to those with Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate-level qualifications.
Over the course of the programme, graduates will rotate through four of Delkia’s key business areas – Nuclear, Maritime, Mission Systems, and Research & Development – gaining invaluable hands-on experience and working on some of the UK’s most complex and high-impact engineering projects.
The scheme offers:
- Six-month placements across different departments
- Involvement in live projects with real-world impact
- Mentoring from senior engineers
- Formal training and development opportunities
- Support towards achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Graduate engineers will be employed on a fixed-term contract with a competitive salary, progression opportunities, pension contributions, and annual leave entitlement. Performance will be reviewed regularly, with assessment through both individual and group projects. Upon successful completion, graduates will be promoted to Alumni Engineer within the company.
Speaking with Student Times, Kurt Canfield, CEO of Delkia, said:
“The Delkia Group prides itself on being a company that puts our people first. This means our culture, values and behaviours are keenly focused towards enhancing our people and providing opportunities for growth and progression. Solving today’s problems will make a better tomorrow so we need to ensure that we are ready, willing and able. The Delkia Engineering Graduate Scheme is a culmination of our culture and values and will be our flagship development initiative for many years to come.”
Applications for the Delkia Engineering Graduate Scheme 2025 are now open and will close on 1 May 2025.
