Scottish Student Archaeology Society Conference 2023

Saturday, February 18, 2023 - Sunday, February 19, 2023 Elphinstone Hall, Aberdeen

Join us in the Granite city for The Scottish Student Archaeology Society Conference (SSASC) 2023! This year we are hosting at Elphinstone Hall, King's College on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February. This year the conference is hosted by Aberdeen University ArchSoc, with the special help of Edinburgh and Glasgow University ArchSoc!

The conference is an annual event held by archaeology students for archaeology students in Scotland. All are welcome, and we will have professionals attending too that you can network with and find new opportunities in the sector! A raffle will also be held during the day.

The first day, Saturday 18th, will consist of talks from students on their research, alongside some opportunities to network with stallholders and professionals. In the evening (7pm-11pm) we will be hosting a ceilidh, again in Elphinstone Hall.

The second day, Sunday the 19th, will consist of a panel and professional talks.

Separate tickets to the social are available too for those not attending the conference- we'd love you to bring your friends and flatmates!

The in person conference is a seated event. For information on accessibility to Elphinstone Hall please visit If you have any requirements or extra support needs you wish to inquire about, please contact us at (Please note the non-traditional spelling without the a!). We want everybody to be able to attend comfortably!

Lastly, the event will be streamed online for those who are not able to attend in person. We cannot guarantee the chance to interact and ask questions with the speakers or attendees if you attend online. This will not be recorded, in order to respect the speakers and their research.

We are really excited about this event and hope to see you there! Sponsors and details are soon to be released.
